An interesting piece in the Guardian a few weeks ago came back to me today, so I tought I would share..
With many people concerned that funding from tourism in the poorer areas of the world is not actually going to the needy, it is good to see some clever fellows in Nairobi, Kenya, start charging for tours of the open slums within the city..
With these tours costing an average of £20 per person, and all monies going (so I am informed) directly to the slum dwellers, you cant help but think that this is a brilliant, yet simple, method to ease the suffering in this poverty stricken area. Well done..
