Indeed it did, and thanks to the success of such an interesting read which gained even greater popularity through film, it has created New Orleans in becoming a tourist attraction. The beauty is, that through such mainstream success it has allowed New Orleans to reopen its mysterious, melancholy doors and show to all the gothic and dark wonders that are available dating back to 1800's which has proven a hit.
